🚧 Range Closed Due to Construction 🚧

Construction for drainage improvements began March 3, 2026.
At this time, we do not have a confirmed reopening date. The board will communicate any updates to members as soon as information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

The gun range is officially closed for the next two months, or 45 working days. This is to allow for dirt work to be completed. In theory, the range will be available for the 4H shoot, which is July. We are not sure about the rest of the schedule or how it may impact hunting season. At some point we can expect that they're going to start on other infrastructure, such as taking out the target stands, the old benches, repair concrete, etc. Eventually there will be electronic gates and surveillance cameras. Members will have their own code to get onto the range, so we will know who went in each gate.

CONVERSE COUNTY SHOOTING RANGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

CONVERSE COUNTY, WYOMING - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, CONVERSE COUNTY SHOOTING RANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Converse County, Wyoming is now accepting sealed bids from qualified construction companies for the Converse County Shooting Range Improvements Project. Bids will be received and publicly read at the Converse County Courthouse in Commission Chambers, 107 N. 5th Street, on April 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. local time.Proposals received after this date and time will not be opened or considered. The Project generally consists of 1) lower and upper range improvements, including all firing and rimfire ranges, demolition/installation of new steel firing range structures and shelters, and a vault restroom; 2) fencing and gate improvements/replacement; 3) trap club improvements; and 4) ADA accessibility, including removal and replacement of concrete. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held April 9, 2026, 2:00 p.m. local time on site, which is located approximately 4 miles south of Douglas, Wyoming, along CR1/Irvine Road.
